Libations at The Lanes

Libations at The Lanes

Stick with Sticky Fingers

Stick with Sticky Fingers

As a baker myself, I make a point to try all the local bakeries. I heard from several people that a new bakery was opening in Kaukauna, and as soon as they posted their menu, I couldn’t wait to try it. Right in the heart of downtown Kaukauna, Sticky Fingers opened in...

Do Not Attempt to Dodge this Caribbean Taste

Do Not Attempt to Dodge this Caribbean Taste

Tuesday. What is there to do on a Tuesday? Hardly anything, ever, really. Tuesday falls too early in the week and yet is so far removed from the weekend. Sometimes it is just another Monday masquerading as a Tuesday. 313 Dodge might just be what you are looking for....

Wisconsin Staples at Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern

Wisconsin Staples at Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern

As I’m getting used to living in Wisconsin, I’m discovering some of the Wisconsin staples when it comes to food and spirits. I knew about Spotted Cow and cheese curds before I moved to Wisconsin, but that was about it. Fortunately, Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern...

Bushels of Fun at Bauer’s Apple Shed

Bushels of Fun at Bauer’s Apple Shed

As soon as the leaves begin to change, even ever so slightly, so does my weekly menu. When the shades of green turn to red and orange, my refrigerator, once full of peaches, quickly becomes home to all things apple. Taking a trip to a local apple orchard is my...

Faris Popcorn is Poppin’

Faris Popcorn is Poppin’

When I previously lived in Illinois, I became familiar with the popcorn chain “Garrett Popcorn.” One of my favorites mixes was their Garrett Mix, their world famous cheddar and caramel corn mix. When I moved to Wisconsin, I wasn’t sure if I would find a popcorn...

When you love Tacos, Taco Tuesday is like a religion.

It might sacrilegious to say, but tacos, and those that go weekly to their favorite taco spot, wouldn’t argue their love of tacos. If you are like me, and a culinarian, (or foodie) you are always searching for something that pushes the limits of what makes a taco, a taco. Barrel 41 Brewing Co  and FourOne Food Group does just that every Tuesday.

If you haven’t visited Barrel 41 Brewing Co’s taproom, you will be shocked to find a very chic, modern setting in a very unexpected place. With cool artistic pieces of art painted on the walls, to stylish decor that screams for influencer selfies, if you are looking for a chic and hip envirnoment to sip Barrel 41’s lastest creations you won’t be disappointed.

The kitchen at Barrel 41 Brewing Co is run by FourOne Food Group. Not only do they serve up amazing tacos on Tuesday, but special menu items when Barrel 41 does new releases. They also own Prepd a food prep service, Jacob’s Seasoned Pretzels, Spent and Cask and Ember, hot sauce. WE hope to let you know more about these great products and their impact on our community, in the future. You can find more information about their products on their website and you can purchase them at Barrel 41 Brewing Co.

Let’s get to the tacos! Barrel 41 Brewing Co offers a steal of deal in my opinion any 3 Tacos for $10 or $4 a piece. My recommendation, order the 3 and treat yourself to a beer. Or order all four and still treat yourself. I mean come on?

Asian BBQ

The Asian BBQ taco was filled with juicy pork and topped with a fresh crisp slaw. The sauce on this taco was amazing and provided just enough head the balance out the fresh crispness of the garnish.  If you are looking for something similar to a BBQ pulled pork sandwich it is very similar and would pair well with your favorite Barrel 41 brew.

BBQ Sweet Potato

Any time I visit a restaurant that makes an effort to create a unique vegan dish they win me over. I don’t eat strictly vegan, but I make a conscious effort to. This taco did not disappoint!

The pickled red onion, topping the corn and potato which made the “meat” this taco really brought out the BBQ sauce that topped it. I honestly was impressed with this taco and as I was eating it didn’t even notice the fact that there wasn’t any meat inside. I would definitely recommend this taco to anyone that loves vegan!

Honey Chipotle

I loved the garnish on this taco. The fresh cut cherry tomatoes and peppers. The flavors were fresh and had just enough heat to keep the flavors from being boring. If I had to rate the tacos, they would have been my second favorite, with my favorite coming next.

Korean Beef

As I was waiting for my food, I heard other patrons saying how awesome the flavors of this taco were. To be honest, I really didn’t know what to expect. Again the garnish on each taco offered at Barrel 41 by FourOne Food Group is colorful, and fresh. The culinarian in me loves to eat with my eyes and none of the tacos I had that day disappointed.

The Korean Beef taco was spicy gochujang may with crunch of the sesame seeds and scallions and surprisingly filled with ground beef. I love tacos and I have had my share and I feel like many times chefs shy away from ground beef. But in this taco, it was exactly what was needed and the flavoring was the epitome of Korean, or at least the flavors that this white girl expects them to be. This was hands down my favorite taco of the four and I will be returning to eat this again.

Don’t forget to grab a side of Chips & Salsa for an extra $5. The salsa is fresh and the queso is awesome! Even after eating the tacos I couldn’t stop myself from eating up this side.

Overall I had an amazing visit to Barrel 41 Brewing Co and I will be back to try more of their delicious tacos, as well as sampling their new beer and special menu items. Their hospitality was overwhelming and their patrons made sure to let me know what an amazing place Barrel 41 and how much they enjoy their visits. You can’t get better testimony to a business then that!
