Nosh Fox Valley Explores Valentines Day 2021
Whenever a reader comes to me and requests something of course, I kindly oblige. Thank you to our reader Emily who asked us to make this post. Here are my picks for Valentine’s Day. I have tried to include take out options as well as options for dining in if you chose. I have also picked different price points to fit any budget. Grab your favorite gal pal, your mom or dad, or if you are one of those lucky saps in love, grab your sweetie. Let’s explore the Fox Valley’s best offering for Valentine’s Day 2021!
Gluten Free + Margaritas! Yes Please!
Combining my love of latin fare, my dietary restrictions and my love for tequila, choosing our first feature was easy. Osorio’s Latin Fusion. If you have never been to Osorio’s, you will find amazing every changing cocktails, latin cuisine, (my favorite being their mole!) and friendly staff that go out of their way to provide you with amazing service. Chef Liborio Osorio is an extremely talented chef, he’s even won the local version of Chopped at Riverview Gardens. Great service, offering and great chef, what more could you ask for?
“1st course (gluten free): Crab Cake with Avocado Aioli paired with Avocado Coconut Margarita
2nd course (gluten free): Roasted Tomatillo, Poblano, Shiitake Soup paired with Pear Thyme Margarita
3rd course (gluten free): Filet Mignon topped with Lobster Meat & Chipotle Cream sauce; served with Potato Cake & Chef’s Choice Vegetables, paired with Chipotle Balsamic Margarita
4th course: (gluten free): Sweet Rice Cake with Raspberry Rosemary Sauce paired with Raspberry Rosemary Margarita”
The menu and cocktails are to go and would make for an amazing night in with your partner, or hey even your favorite tequila loving friend.

Agápe, universal love. Really my undying love of all things Greek. I will be honest until recently Apollon has fallen off my food loving radar. As a child my favorite place to visit was Karra’s with my grandparents. The current owner has done a good job continuing on where Mr Karra’s left off. Apollon has also reinstated my love affair of Greek food, and I hope it will do the same for you.
Apollon is offering a 7 Course Meal for it’s patrons on Valentine’s Day. The menu consists of the Greek favorites like it’s Avgolemono, Lemon Soup and plenty of Seafood reminiscent of the being on the Greek Isles themselves. If I had to pick favorites, the Saganki, Scallops, and Lamb Au Chocolate.
Honestly you will not go wrong with anything offered on this menu. The atmosphere at Apollon makes for an amazing date night with your loved one. Not to mention maybe it can breeze you off the Greek Isle at least for the night?

Mark’s East Side – It’s a Tradition
Mark’s East Side hands down has adapted to this pandemic with the most invenovation of any other establishment in our area. It’s not surprising really because it’s an Appleton institution. If you are looking for the Super Club experience without having to leave your own check out Mark’s Menu to go. The Menu includes BBQ Ribs and Chicken, along with all the fixings, dessert (which is always amazing!) and a bottle of wine. Everytime my family has ordered these to go meals from Mark’s East Side we’ve had plenty of leftovers and felt extremely satisfied with our meals. Sounds like a great night for watching classic love stories, cuddling on the couch.
I Want it All! TJ’s Highland Steakhouse
The one menu that stood out to me the most out of all of the menus in this guide is the offerings of TJ’s Highland Steakhouse. When I looked at the appetizers, I literally thought to myself that I just wanted them all. The Deconstructed Crab Rangoon and Pork Belly are my first choices. Lobster Ravioli and Beef Wellington (something I know our readers look for often!)
Not to mention the pairings sound lovely. I enjoy the fact that they have chosen Prosecco opposed to choosing champagne. I am definitely a Prosecco girl and love when a restaurant offers it as an option on menus like this.
The Meal is available on both Febuary 13th & 14th
Reservations at Your Favorite Spot?
If you are looking for a great meal at two of own personal favorites, Rye and Fress Restaurant & Bar. They will have features for the day but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at both locations. I personally am a fan of grabbing a bottle of wine at Rye and enjoying their appetizers. Their crabcakes have always been a personal favorite. At Fress make sure to grab one of their cockails. Our blogger Spencer recently wrote about them here. And please get yourself the Oyster Mushrooms. Hands down my favorite menu item and has had me question my usual distaste of all things mushroom.
Let us know in the comments where you plan to visit! And Happy Valentine’s Day from the entire Nosh Fox Valley Staff!
