Libations at The Lanes

Libations at The Lanes

The Howard is a historic and elegant event space located in the heart of Oshkosh. The building, built in 1927, hosts private and community events. On Thursday and Friday evenings, the basement of the venue opens up to the public for bowling, craft beverages, and...

Stick with Sticky Fingers

Stick with Sticky Fingers

As a baker myself, I make a point to try all the local bakeries. I heard from several people that a new bakery was opening in Kaukauna, and as soon as they posted their menu, I couldn’t wait to try it. Right in the heart of downtown Kaukauna, Sticky Fingers opened in...

Do Not Attempt to Dodge this Caribbean Taste

Do Not Attempt to Dodge this Caribbean Taste

Tuesday. What is there to do on a Tuesday? Hardly anything, ever, really. Tuesday falls too early in the week and yet is so far removed from the weekend. Sometimes it is just another Monday masquerading as a Tuesday. 313 Dodge might just be what you are looking for....

Wisconsin Staples at Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern

Wisconsin Staples at Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern

As I’m getting used to living in Wisconsin, I’m discovering some of the Wisconsin staples when it comes to food and spirits. I knew about Spotted Cow and cheese curds before I moved to Wisconsin, but that was about it. Fortunately, Gabe’s Wisconsin Kitchen and Tavern...

Bushels of Fun at Bauer’s Apple Shed

Bushels of Fun at Bauer’s Apple Shed

As soon as the leaves begin to change, even ever so slightly, so does my weekly menu. When the shades of green turn to red and orange, my refrigerator, once full of peaches, quickly becomes home to all things apple. Taking a trip to a local apple orchard is my...

Faris Popcorn is Poppin’

Faris Popcorn is Poppin’

When I previously lived in Illinois, I became familiar with the popcorn chain “Garrett Popcorn.” One of my favorites mixes was their Garrett Mix, their world famous cheddar and caramel corn mix. When I moved to Wisconsin, I wasn’t sure if I would find a popcorn...

A few months ago I told Tina from Red Door Mercantile about my new food blog I was creating. If you have never gotten a chance to visit Red Door Mercantile, Tina is one of the kindest and most welcoming shop owners I have ever met. Not only was she excited for me, she also wanted to collaborate on a future blog post. We haven’t gotten a chance to yet, and I truly hope we can in the future. No holiday shopping for your favorite food would be complete without a visit to her store. And honestly the pictures I took could never do justice to her beautifully decorated store or the plethora of amazing gifts you can find at Red Door Mercantile.

Red Door Mercantile epitomizes everything Nosh Fox Valley stands for, that is supporting local businesses. Red Door has many gifts available that celebrate our state. One of my favorites is a casserole dish in the shape of Wisconsin. Couldn’t you see this is your grandma’s kitchen? And really how traditionally Wisconsin is it to give someone a casserole dish? She also has food safe Wisconsin shaped boards. How fun would that be alongside your favorite local cheeses?

Another of my favorites are the custom glasses that Tina has created for her store. Perfect for the Old Fashion love, beer lover and anyone that calls Neenah Home. They would be a fun  addition to any gift basket. We suggest adding it to a cocktail box from 313 Dodge in Kaukauna. Or create a basket of your favorite local brews. The Peppermint Stout from Barrel 41 is amazing, and would make a very fitting gift alongside the Neenah Pint glass as that is where the brewery calls home.

Red Door also has amazing stocking stuffers. Ranging from popcorn, hot chocolate mixes with the cutest mugs. It also stocks some of the best chocolates you can find in the area and it’s gotten my mom and I through many an all day shopping session. She also has crackers and jellies which would be great additions to the boards we keep talking about.

Looking for gifts for the cook in your life? Red Door also has gifts for the grillers in your life, books on cooking outdoors as well as smores kits. Honestly is it ever not smores season? She also has some really cute gifts for baking. I especially loved the fudge pan she has available. Tina also showed me some amazing new christmas tree boards she had just gotten in that are sure to add a touch of whimsy to any table. Another of my personal favorites? Her Vodka and Cookies tray.

If you haven’t yet make sure you stop into Red Door soon as many of the holiday items available have been selling quickly.
