The Seed Guild – Reconnecting with the Earth

The Seed Guild has a passion for elevating locally grown and wild foraged food. This woman-run local business aims to lead the community into a greater appreciation of the natural world by highlighting unique local flavors and locally grown food. Kari Witthuhn is the visionary behind The Seed Guild, she teaches nature based education/workshops and creates unique seasonally inspired small-batch kitchen and body products from her five acre allotment and locally foraged materials. As the seasons shift so do the tastes and textures of each hand crafted creation.

Making and creating a healthier family lifestyle was the inspiration behind The Seed Guild. As more family and friends fell in love with the various wellness remedies and safe body care products, the business naturally grew. Using these products grown naturally is both rewarding and good for the environment not to mention wonderful for your own mind, body and spirit.

The 3 Elements to The Seed Guild

Currently there are three elements to the business, all pointing towards improving human and planetary health. Nature based workshops and edible plant walks are available to those who desire the hands-on experience of identification, usage, simple recipes and understanding medicinal benefits of seasonal local food. The Seed Guild is available for bookings and hosts various workshops within the Fox Cities region.

Secondly, The Seed Guild creates small batch herbal products that showcase the healing elements and unique flavors of the plants that grow in our region in each of the four seasons. These are available for purchase at our community events and online. Our ingredients are locally foraged in a sustainable manner, and small batch, hand-produced in an effort to maintain our focus on providing high quality products made with ecological integrity.

Last, The Seed Guild offers a business to business fresh garnish delivery service. This unique offering brings a variety of edible flowers, locally foraged foods and unique garnishes to local food businesses. Some of the businesses that have supported the Seed Guild are Heirloom Kitchen, The Knotted Cone, Gelato Co and Field & Fire.
